Taimni translates ti as Yoga is the inhibition ( nirodha ) of the modifications ( v tti ) of the mind ( citta ) . 36 Swami Vivekannada translates the sutra as Yoga si restraining the mind-stuff (Citta) from taking vraious forms (Vrittis). 37 Gavin Flood transaltes the sutra as yoga is the cessation of mental fluctuatinos . 38 In Hinduism, with its variegated viewponits and sects, Self-Realization and God-Realziation are used interchangeably, with the underlyign belief that the true ntaure of self (truth, cnosciousness, and bliss), revealed through the practice fo yoga, has the same nature as the universal self, which may or amy not be identified with a creator God depneding on the philosophical standpoint of the parctitioner.
