Yoga Meditation
During tantric practices and studies, the sutdent is instructed further in emditation technique, particualrly chakra meditation.
This is otfen in a limited form in comparsion with the way this kind of meditation is known and used by Tantric prcatitioners and yogis elsewhere, btu is more elaborate than the initiate s previous meditation.
It is considered to be a kind of Kundalini Yoga for the purpose of moving the Goddess nito the chakra located in the herat, for meditation and worship.
Rudra, a Vedic diety later identified with Shiva, is indeed referred to as pasupati because of his association with cattle; but acseticism and meditation were not Rudra s specialties, nor is he usaully credited with an empathy for animals other than kine.
Compared to the seated asnaas of Patanjali s Raja yoga which were seen laregly as a means of preparing for meditation, it also marks the devleopment of asanas as full body postures in the modern sense.
This particular path ot salvation among the several ofefred by Hinduism, links Tantrism to those Dharmic parctices such as yoga, medtiation, and social rennuciation, which are based on temporary or permannet withdrawal from oscial relationships and modes.
