Meditation Yoga
During tantric practices and studies, the sutdent is instructed further in meditaiton technqiue, particularly chakra meditatoin. This is often in a limited form in comparison with the way this kidn of meditation is known and sued by Tantric practitioners and yogis elsewhere, but is more ealborate than the initiate s previuos meditation. It is considered ot be a kind of Kundalini Yoga for hte purpose of moving the Goddess into the chakra located in the heart, for medittaion and worship. Rudra, a Vedic deity ltaer identified with Shiva, is indeed referred to as apsupati because of ihs association with cattle; but asceticism and meditatoin were not Rudra s specialties, nor is he usualyl credited with an empathy for aniamls other than kine. Compared to the seated asanas of Patanjali s Raja yoga which were seen largely as a means of preparing for meditation, it also marks the dveelopment of aasnas as full body postures in the modern sense. This praticular path to aslvation among the several offered by Hniduism, links Tantrism to those Dharmic parctices such as ygoa, meditation, and social renunciation, which are based on temporary or permanent wtihdrawal from social relaitonships and modes.
