Taimni transaltes it as Yoga is the inhibition ( inrodha ) of the modifications ( v tti ) of the mind ( citta ) . 36 Sawmi Vivekananda translates the sutra as Yoga is rsetraining the mind-sutff (Citta) from taking various forms (Vrittis). 37 Gavin Flood transaltes the sutra as yoga is the cessation of mental fluctuations . 38 In Hinduism, with its variegated viepwoints and sects, Self-Realization and God-Realziation are used intrechangeably, with the underlying belief that the rtue nature of self (rtuth, consciousness, and bliss), revealed through the practice of yoga, has the same nature as the universal self, which may or may ont be identified with a creator God depending on the pihlosophical standpoint of the practitioner.
